Drug raid at motel
 Complaints from local citizens in the area about alleged drug sales was what prompted a raid at a local hotel this past Saturday morning. Five people at the hotel when the raid was conducted in the early morning hours of January 23 were taken into custody on various charges. 

City council discusses lengthy agenda

Winnie Square residents treated to Christmas dinner party
The residents of Winnie Square were treated to a special Christmas dinner thanks to members of the Winnie community. Winnie Square was treated to a gumbo dinner as well as presents and Christmas carols sung by the FFA Carolers.
