Two Jasper County men were arrested in a drug raid at a home in Buna on Tuesday, July 20.

The Jasper County Sheriff's Department reported that they were conducting an ongoing investigation of the residence. The two men were arrested late Tuesday night after a search of the home just north of Buna. The raid occurred on County Road 639, also known as Lone Oak Road.

Chief Deputy Ralph Nichols says the bust was made after undercover officers made several purchases of meth-amphetamine from the men. Nichols said enough evidence was gathered to obtain a search warrant. Upon search of a Dodge pickup located on the property belonging to one of the men, officers found more meth-amphetamine. The vehicle was impounded.

Arrested were, 41-year-old Bobby Brown and 47-year-old Glenn Darin Wales, both of Buna.

Brown was charged with a probation violation out of Hardin County and had a $2,500 bond and was transferred to Hardin County to face that charge. Wales is being held in Jasper County Jail and was charged with delivery of a controlled substance with a bond of $25,000 and possession of a controlled substance with a separate bond of $5,000. Both men were still incarcerated at press time.

The officers involved in the operation and eventual raid and arrest were Chief Deputy Nichols, Sheriff Mitchel Newman, and Kenny Stanley, Joe Sterling, Scott Duncan, Buster LaCap and Mike Smith.

Nichols said that this is part of the ongoing effort of Sheriff Newman's commitment to get rid of drugs in the county and arrest those who make and sell them. Nichols said that undercover operations and drug raids will continue and anyone selling them should know they will be caught.
