Author will speak at Kountze library

The Friends of Kountze Public Library will host German Author, Barbara Ortwein, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the library, 800 South Redwood. Barbara will tell the story of the Engelbach family from Germany to Texas.

Man who learned to walk again touched many lives at Paradigm

BY DAN EAKIN Editor@silsbeebee.com A man who had not walked for four years and is now walking with a walker was discharged with a big going away party earlier this month at the Paradigm at Kountze. Tony Feagan, 52, of Sour Lake, had spent less than two months at Paradigm where therapists worked with him several days a week to get him to walk again.

The Kountze Lions had eight players honored by District 22 3A coaches when the All district teams were announced. Zac Sells was named as the District Most Valuable Player for the third time.
