Cheryl Bean donated a King Trombone to the Kountze High School Band in honor of the parents of Bobby Fife. The senior Bobby Fife sold insurance and later served the community as Mayor and at the same time as Chief of Police.

Spindletop Center awarded certificate for excellence in financial reporting

BEAUMONT – Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Spindletop Center for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2021. This is the third consecutive year Spindletop Center has been awarded this certificate.

Three SHS girls compete in Texas Miss US Ag. competition

Three Silsbee High School ladies have been chosen as Texas Miss US Agriculture queens for local counties and will be competing for state titles and scholarships next November. Freshman Kylee Champagne will be representing Hardin County, Freshman Rhaleigh Cox will be representing Jefferson County, and Sophomore Payton Gill will be representing Tyler County.

Timothy Sojka is excited to speak at Silsbee High School on behalf of the Performing and Visual Arts Council next Wednesday, November 9th. “I am honored to have a chance to give back to Silsbee, the place that built me,” Tim said. “The teachers, librarians, and staff molded a child with rampant ADHD and made me believe I could accomplish anything. I am so grateful to the educators and Silsbee as a whole. My best memories are still running through the Big Thicket and swimming in the Neches and Village Creek.”
