The Silsbee Lady Tigers, who are playing with only nine players this year, are off to a fast start with a 4-2 record. They opened their season with a 61-43 loss to West Brook.

The Silsbee Tigers football season ended with a one sided loss to the Bellville Brahmas, 61-7, in a regional semi-finals game on Friday at Planet Ford Stadium in Spring. Ironically the location was the same where the Tigers defeated Madisonville last year by a score of 60-21 which was one week after Madisonville defeated Bellville by a 9-3 score.

The Silsbee Tigers ended their pre Thanksgiving schedule with a 76-46 win over an always tough Dallas Madison squad. The Tigers are now 2-2 with losses to unbeaten (5-0) Woodlands College Park and unbeaten (6-0) Episcopal by a 70-60 score.

The Kountze Lions are off to their fastest start in recent years as they have defeated four opponents from bigger class in one sided fashion. They opened the year with an 81-38 victory over Splendora, a 4A school.

The Silsbee Tigers claimed a 35-10 victory Friday over a huge Gatesville team. The Hornets had a huge team up front and a running back, Rayshon Smith. The Tigers knew from the start that Gatesville was very well coached in the offensive line and it was obvious how tough Rayshon Smith was.

District 19-4A coaches have honored Bella Hebert of Lumberton as the Offensive Player of the Year in volleyball. Haley Humble and Jaycee Spears were selected as a first team all district players.
