The Silsbee Tigers basketball team defeated Port Arthur Memorial on 74-66 in Silsbee to even their record at 1-1. The Tigers had opened the year with a 7559 loss to College Park.

The Lumberton Raiders 2023 football season came to a close Thursday when they dropped a 5228 decision to the Needville Blue Jays at Katy. The Raiders seemed a little flat from the opening whistle.

The Silsbee Tigers battled their way past a determined Sealy squad on a very wet night at Randal Reed Stadium in New Caney last Thursday night to win the bi-district championship by a score of 35-22. The Sealy Tigers won the flip and elected to kick the ball which led to the Silsbee Tigers first TD of the game.

The Lumberton Raiders scored the first four times they got the ball on their way to a 40-14 win over Athens on Friday night in a Big-District playoff game that was played at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.
