Tigers hand Longhorns their first loss of season

Friday night was a beautiful night for football. Silsbee was playing Hamshire-Fannett. The weather was great. The stadium was packed. There were lots of bands and pretty girls. Scouts were all over the place to watch the players and best of all there were two unbeaten teams taking the field.

Tigers travel to Bridge City Friday

The Tigers will play a district game Friday night that could assure them of at least a tie for the District Championship when they travel to Bridge City for a football game. The Cardinals have a new coach this year and have been in a very successful rebuilding mode.

Lady Tigers JV, varsity beat WOS

The Lady Tigers volleyball teams played at West Orange Stark on Tuesday, Oct. 17, and picked up victories at both the junior varsity and varsity level.

Raiders beat Falcons 46-14

The Lumberton Raiders continued their winning ways in district action Friday night with an easy 46-14 win over the Huffman Hargrave Falcons in Lumberton. The Raiders got on the scoreboard about the middle of the first quarter when Trey Kersh returned a punt all the way to score.

Rebels beat Bulldogs 42-24 in Colmesneil

The Evadale Rebels had a great night against the Colmesneil Bulldogs in Colmesneil last Friday night, winning by a score of 42-24. The first quarter was scoreless, but the second quarter yielded a total of 29 points, with the Rebels scoring three touchdowns for 21 points and the Bulldogs scoring 8, with a touchdown and two extra points.

Freshmen, JV defeat Liberty

The Silsbee Freshmen and JV squads have combined and they now have an overall record of 6-0-1. Last week they crushed Liberty by a 45-7 score.

Lady Tigers lose to LHS, but beat Jasper

The Silsbee Lady Tigers split a pair of District volleyball games with Lumberton and Jasper last week. They dropped a straight set game to Lumberton Tuesday by scores of 1525, 11-25, and 17-25.
