Angel Turner, of Lumberton, was on hand at Magnolia Lane on Saturday to promote her book, Noises in the Wall.

In the children’s book, Turner uses bee characters to teach children about the beatitudes and the fruits of the Spirit. Each beatitude has a bee character.

“We have to feast daily on the fruit of the Spirit daily to have the beatitudes,” stated Turner.

Turner stated that she had been a writer since she was a child. She said she always had a pencil in hand, but allowed the words of others to distract her from her dream for many years.

It was not until she sat in a Sunday School class that she felt encouraged to publish her book. One of the ladies in the Sunday School class was discussing a book she had written and encouraged Turner to pursue her dream.

Turner says that the inspiration for the book came from lessons on the beatitudes she heard when she was younger.

“When I would hear the word beatitudes, I would picture bees,” explained Turner.

Noises in the Wall can be found on Amazon. Turner plans on writing future books.
