A total of four veterans of the U.S. military live at Paradigm at The Pines in Silsbee. They are Thomas R. Read, Melvin Cousins, Robert (Bob) Copple and Leroy Durbin. Read served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. He did his basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana and then went to Puerto Rico where he served with the military police.
