The Lumberton City Council Monday night appointed Joey Schoen to fill a vacancy on the council.
Schoen has served in various capacities for the city and school district over the years.
With Kimberly Cline abstaining, the council voted 4-0 to appoint Schoen. Those in favor were Mayor Don Surratt, Lynette Banks, Kenneth Wahl and David Maniscalco.
