Tigers defeat Jasper 108-52 with an avalanche of points

  • The Silsbee High School girls soccer team did real well recently in the Hudson Tournament. All Tournament players were Kristi Eyre and GL Erin Byars. Erin had 12 saves in the game against Carthage and Kristi scored a goal against Westwood and had one assist. Kristi also scored a goal against Hudson and Erin had five saves in that game.Against Mexia,Riley Harrison scored an goal and Erin Byars had 8 saves. Courtesy photo

  • Payton Jones is the freshman phenom on the Silsbee Tigers basketball team. His play is a smooth as silk. Here he takes a shot over the outstretched hand of a Jasper defender. The Silsbee Tigers came out shooting from long range with Lamarcus Bottley, Payton Jones and Quinton Shoulders all dropping balls through the bottom of the net from long range as the Tigers defeated Jasper at Jasper 108-52 on Jan. 9. There was little that the opposing Jasper Bulldogs could do to stop the avalanche of points. Silsbee led 3810 at the end of the first period. Coach Joe Sigler went…
