  • District 19-4A coaches have announced they’re all district picks in volleyball for 2023. Silsbee’s Cadriane Martin was selected as a Co-Utility Player of the Year.She shared that honor with Ava White of LCM.Kearstyn Hall of Silsbee was named as a First Team All-District player.Both Martin and Hall are seniors. Destine Flowers of Silsbee was honored as a second team all district player. Honorable mention all district players from Silsbee included Jena Warden and Ryann Norsworthy.

  • The Gatesville Hornets packed all their offensive players into a small space and then smashed Rayshon Smith (11) into their midst.The much smaller Tiger team managed to come up with a plan to defend the hard running Hornets. Silsbee only allowed one TD in a 35-10 victory in the area round of the Play offs Smith carried the ball 19 times in the first half against Silsbee and caught a couple of passes. The Silsbee Tigers claimed a 35-10 victory Friday over a huge Gatesville team. The Hornets had a huge team up front and a running back, Rayshon Smith. The Tigers knew from the start that Gatesville was very well coached in the offensive line and it was obvious how tough Rayshon Smith was.
