The Good Samaritan Fellowship Hornets boys basketball team is making some noise in the Home School Basketball world. The program’s first year having a boys basketball team after struggling to field a team the past few years, the varsity boys, coached by Jon Houchin, former NCAA dual sport collegiate athlete , are 26-3, with wins over public schools, private schools, and other homeschool teams.

The Silsbee Lady Tigers ended regular season play with a 93-33 victory over West Orange Stark in Silsbee last Friday. Silsbee took control of the game by outscoring WOS 19-4 in the first period.
Raiders soccer team beats Vidor, Silsbee

After beating Vidor in a pk shootout on Tuesday night, Jan. 30, the Lumberton Boys Soccer team (5-3-3, 2-0) defeated the Silsbee Boys Soccer team (2-8-1, 0-3) by a score of 6-0 Friday night. Santi Troncoso orchestrated the offense with 4 first-half assists from the midfield while Jaxan Tallina and Andrew Hansen scored 3 goals each. Peyton Allen also had an assist with Will Scoggin and Aidan Moses sharing the shutout in goal in the win.

The Silsbee Tigers played Jasper, their biggest rival, last Friday and came within one point of a school record for points production. They scored 130 points against Jasper while limiting them to 66 points.

The Silsbee Tigers ran their record to 8-0 in District play and 19-9 overall with a wins over Vidor on Friday and Bridge City on Tuesday. They defeated Vidor 10054 and Bridge City 104-55.

The Silsbee girls powerlifting team won first place at the Silsbee High School Powerlifting meet. Five Lady Tigers placed first, three placed second and two third as they cruised to a team high 56 points.
