Returning from the best season in school history, the Lumberton Boys Varsity Soccer Team took part in the Sulphur Springs 4A Elite Invitational this past weekend. After winning their group, they beat Region 2’s Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy (Dallas) in the semi-finals in a pk shootout 8-7, but lost the final in another pk shootout 6-7 to Region 2 Celina in a tough preseason warm up.

Last week the Tigers played in the King Cotton Classic in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Silsbee won one game and lost two in the tournament.

The Silsbee Lady Tigers ran their District record to 4-0 with a pair of wins, 77-38 over Vidor Tuesday, Jan. 2 and 74-39 over Lumberton on Friday, Jan.

The Silsbee JV boys basketball team defeated Lumberton by a score of 73-16 and they claimed a 55-36 win over Bridge City last week to up their record to 2-0 in district play. Against Lumberton.

Four Silsbee High School athletes signed letters of intent to play sports in college on National Signing Day, Dec. 20.

The Silsbee Tigers cruised to a 87-54 victory over the Bridge City Cardinals on Friday. The game was played in the Tiger Den and actually seemed to be a little closer than the final score indicated.

The Silsbee Lady Tigers won a pair of district games last week with Monica Bottley providing most of the firepower. The tiny shooting guard hit for 33 in a 76-19 win over LCM and then turned around and hit for 32 in a 73-53 win over Bridge City.
