AFter a two-year hiatus due to COVID pandemic conditions, the popular homecoming tradition known as Tiger Prowl returns to the Homecoming 2022 lineup of activities. Tiger Prowl, organized by Silsbee downtown Revitalization, kicks off immediately after the homecoming parade in downtown Silsbee. Streets will be closed around th epublic library to accommodate scores of vendors offering food, soft drinks, shaved ice, clothing, jewelry, art, and other merchandise. Activities include bounce house for children as well as a mechanical bull for adults. Various notable citizens will be in the dunking booth challenging everyone to make them fall into the water.

Angel Turner, of Lumberton, was on hand at Magnolia Lane on Saturday to promote her book, Noises in the Wall. In the children’s book, Turner uses bee characters to teach children about the beatitudes and the fruits of the Spirit.

Mrs. Teshauna Turk, 3rd Grade Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies GT teacher at Silsbee Elementary, was recently named the Silsbee Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year.

ROBSTOWN, Texas — Texas Farm Credit launched its 2022 annual virtual contest encouraging local youth ag teams to submit a video spotlighting their agricultural project for a chance to win a large cash prize for their FFA Chapter.
