Raiders take first place in district, beating LCM

The Tumberton Raiders continue to be undefeated in district action with a 24-7 victory over the Tittle Cypress-Mauriceville (LCM) Bears at Battlin Bear Stadium last Friday night. The Bears took the opening kickoff but were unable to get on the scoreboard until in the final quarter of the game.

Lady Rebels advance as Bi-District champions

The Evadale Lady Rebels defeated the Groveton Indians Monday in the first round of playoffs 3-1 with scores of 25-19, 24-26, 25-16, and 25-21 to be Bi-District champions. Stat leaders for the night were: Blocks: Whitley Carter 26, Madison Riedinger 13.

Evadale loses to Lovelady for fifth straight season

The Evadale Rebels lost to the undefeated Lovelady Lions by a score of 62-7 before a crowd in Evadale last Friday night. It was the Rebels’ fifth loss in a row to the Lions who have a 9-0 season so far this year.

Friday night was a beautiful night for football. Silsbee was playing Hamshire-Fannett. The weather was great. The stadium was packed. There were lots of bands and pretty girls. Scouts were all over the place to watch the players and best of all there were two unbeaten teams taking the field.

Tigers travel to Bridge City Friday

The Tigers will play a district game Friday night that could assure them of at least a tie for the District Championship when they travel to Bridge City for a football game. The Cardinals have a new coach this year and have been in a very successful rebuilding mode.

The Lady Tigers volleyball teams played at West Orange Stark on Tuesday, Oct. 17, and picked up victories at both the junior varsity and varsity level.

Raiders beat Falcons 46-14

The Lumberton Raiders continued their winning ways in district action Friday night with an easy 46-14 win over the Huffman Hargrave Falcons in Lumberton. The Raiders got on the scoreboard about the middle of the first quarter when Trey Kersh returned a punt all the way to score.
